NGD (next week) GA6 lefty
« on: August 08, 2014, 10:07:38 PM »
I have owned many Taylors over the years, but not lately. I found this new/old stock GA6 lefty and the price was just too good to pass up. The guitar does not have electronics which suits me fine, I will install a Baggs Element active which is what I have in my other guitars. I am very excited about this guitar, I have never owned a flat top with maple back and sides. I will pop back in when it gets here (hopefully next Wednesday)

Just for fun, my 2 Neil Gardiners. Neil is a very good builder in Ontario, sadly, he has quit building after developing severe wood allergies. Any how, I think it's a law that newbies post pics, right?

Hi Jimmy. Welcome to the UTGF. Mmm, maple. :) Congrats. Coco and walnut trump any silly newbie laws. 8) Enjoy.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. And thanks for the kind words on the Gardiners....so sad Neil isn't building anymore, that said, the woods he used were pretty amazing.

I am very excited to get the Taylor. As you can see from my sig, most of my instruments are on the smaller side (except the Pono), it will be nice to have a larger guitar (with the volume and bass that comes along with it). The guitar does not have pickup (ES) in it, I am putting a LR Baggs Element active in it. I have Elements in all my guitars and run them through a Fishman Aura Spectrum (a great box).

Anyhow, the guitar should ship Monday and get here Wednesday. Pictures soon, I promise.

Welcome aboard, Jimmy ...great to have you here!  :D

Nice guits there, and it was only within the last couple of years that I also found that love for engelmann.  I've found engel-topped guits so tonally versatile for their warmth, but also has the ability to punch when driven.  Enjoy these and the coming maple :)
