guitar case
« on: April 24, 2012, 04:23:05 PM »
hello : are there others having  issues with they way the guitar headstock fits the case. my 814 ce gold tuners rub on the case and i'm concerned about the finish being worn off. i had tried a new case made in mexico now do the same. i have seen many cases look the same way. how might this be resolved?

Bob,  I asked the same question when I got my BTO and I was told this is normal especially if there is a cutaway on the guitar.

Your guitar will be fine...

All of my Taylors have sat like this in their cases, even my 1999 710 does.  Some guys will keep a towl rolled and stick it in the hole where the cut away is.  I think it helps some.

But no worries.  It won't hurt anything.

All of my Taylors sit with the head stock closer to the hinge side of the case, they don't touch the case after they are all the way in.

Interestingly, my GSLJ lays in the case with the tuners nearly touching the latch side, not the hinge side as commonly reported.
At first I was concerned but the more I thought about it, it's no big deal.
Plus, when the case is sitting on the hinged edge on the floor, the guitar centers itself and the headstock floats.
