Hello from Kent, UK
« on: December 23, 2013, 07:42:24 AM »
Just took the plunge and treated myself to a 520e First Edition - a fantastic guitar, although it was shipped minus a scratch plate! After a few minor wrangles (including being sent a tortoiseshell guard), Taylor are shipping me one. Fingers crossed!

Been playing since I was 11, had a minor dalliance with the record industry about ten years ago, but I recovered... Now approaching 40, thought it was time to get down to business with my finger-style and more serious about practising generally.

Players I rate -  Fripp, Jimi, Zappa, Davy Graham.

Welcome. Wow, high standards in your player list.

Saw Dweezil Zappa and band playing Frank's oeuvre Halloween night in NYC. Nice approximation.

Welcome to the forum Burntweenie.  Kent is the home of the Cliffs of Dover(beautiful), which is a iconic geographical view.  How is Gillingham F.C. doing?

The White Cliffs are pretty special, esp. from the sea. Dover, on the other hand, has seen better days!

The Gills are presently mid-table, not bad as they've just been promoted. Hopefully they should stay up.

Thanks for the welcome!

Hi Burntweenie. Welcome to the UTGF. I'm not a fan of scratch plates, but love the name. Congrats on the new 520e FE. Enjoy. :)
