Taylor Neck Adjust?
« on: November 19, 2014, 11:47:00 PM »
I pick up a Taylor and the "action" seems much too high from the Taylors I'm used to.....I sight down the neck (held up like a violin) and the neck seems to dip slightly in the middle and then pull up a little at the end.....is this something that is easily corrected with the Taylor neck adjustment, and would that slight bow in the neck be a sign of any kind of permanent damage that can't be corrected?

No damage! There should be a slight 'dip' in the neck. If you want to lower the action you have to tighten the trussrod. But do it in small steps (they have more effect than you would imagine).
If you dig it, do it; if you dig it a lot, do it twice (Jim Croce)

Great, Krug! But don't blame me if you are hard up... BTW feel safe to do it yourself next time. If you do it carefully nothing can go wrong.
