height of bridge pins after re-stringing

Well I am a bit of a newb when it comes to acoustic guitars having just playing my electrics for 20 years.... I re-strung my 324 a few weeks ago and I followed the taylor video to a "t".... it went well although I noticed that when I inserted the string into the hole and inserted the pin I did not get that click sound after pulling the string to seat the pins..... when I looked at the guitar the other day I noticed that the pins are not level.... is that normal or did I do something wrong? it plays fine and stays in tune, is there something I should do the next time I restring?

You're probably fine.  Sometimes the bridge pins creep back out a bit after re-stringing the guitar.  There's probably a trick or stringing technique to keep it from happening, but I'm not savvy.  Perhaps another forum member will enlighten us both...?

Usually you can loosen the strings with high pins and push a little and get them further down. Some of my less expensive guitars are more prone to this. As I tune up the strings I'll keep pressure on the pin to keep it from slipping out. If that doesn't work I'd pull the pin all the way out by tuning down enough to get it out and then try starting again with the pin all the way down. The last thing to check is pull out all pins and play with different pins in different holes to see if any seat better in different spots. I always try to keep track of which pin was in which hole when I restring specifically to avoid this situaton.

I initiated a thread a while ago about (what I thought were) loose bridge pins.  My previous guitars all had much tighter pins than my 310ce or my 456ce have/had.
I was convinced that the pins were slipping.

I replaced the ones on the 310 with a bone set that are much tighter and I've been much happier since.  When I restring, I always pull up on the string to seat it against the pin before attaching it to the tuning peg (I've done it this way for many years, pre-Taylor) and I'm much happier with how the bone pins fit.  And yes, all the pins are even.

interesting... I did pull up on the strings as shown on the taylor website. Maybe ill try the bone pins later at some point.
