As most you probably know by now, I have a 2003 110-GB which I recently had the neck reset by a friend who is a luthier . When I got it, the action was extremely high and I called Taylor about getting some shims for it. They told me that they probably didn't have any for that model because it was a 2003 and was discontinued. To their credit, they did send me a shim which they thought might fit. When I gave it to my friend to do the repair, he told me that the shim didn't fit and that he had one from a Big Baby which he was going to install . It did make a difference but at times, I still have a bit of a hard time playing it. I'm using 12-53 strings and the action on the 12th fret is at 5/32 on the Bass side. I did do a truss adjustment and the neck does have a very slight bow going down the middle. Now what I would like to know is, what are Taylor's standards as far as string height is concerned and does anybody on here have a 110Shim they would be willing to part with that I could use with my 2003 model?
