New strings on my 322 12 Fret
« on: December 17, 2018, 10:38:28 PM »
I just put on some Ernie Ball Alum Bronze lights.
I love them! One of the things that attracted me to this guitar was the “chime” from the Tasmanian Blackwood back & sides. These strings really brought this tone out.
I don’t know yet how long they will last, but this guitar seems to like them.

Big fan of the AL-Bronze on my 322 as well. Gives it a nice growl, very unique 12 fret tone that was lacking on the two spruce topped Taylor 12 frets I had.

Not being coated, I've found they don't last as long as my other favorites, Nano Elixars, but I can count on 3 months before they seem a bit dull.

That wood combo is amazing. I know it's not a 12 fret but a buddy of mine played my 324 this past weekend and now he's in love and will be ordering one soon I think.

Thanks for posting!
At least it lends some credence to the fact that my hearing, with regards to tone, is somewhat correct.

Actually I’ve played one of those, and I agree with you.
When I ordered my 12 Fret from GC last Christmas, they accidentally ordered the 324. No one noticed until I unboxed it in the store, and I saw it was a 14 fret. I had already tried out a 322, so I knew what I wanted. While the 324 did not have the full bass tone of a 12 fret, it sounded awesome. It could be driven harder and was probably more versatile.
