Taylor Es2 impedance observation
« on: March 16, 2020, 04:41:43 AM »
So yesterday I took my Taylor 322e with es2 system to the rehersal room.
I wanted to do a a/b test with a Lr baggs venue vs a Tc bodyrez going into a Radial passive Di.

The Venue is excellent of course. But one observation a made was that when going through the Bodyrez the basic sound of the guitar was clearer. It wasn´t as heavy in the lows as with the venue.

So I looked at the spec of the bodyrez and the input impedance is 1M.
And I´ve read before that the Es2 is quite similar to a K&K pure mini that also benefits from 1M input first in the chain to have clearer lows.
Maybe it´s the same for the Es2?

I can recommend giving it a try if you have a guitar with Es2 in it!

I run mine into a POD HD500X with some comp and a couple of eq's to dial out the low-mids...and it sounds really good.

And I spent years chasing acoustic tone with Fishman ust's, Baggs Anthem, K&K, Fishman Aura DI, Baggs Para Acoustic DI.

This is easily the best plugged in tone I've ever gotten...and it's fairly simple. I'd still like to try the BodyRez, but I feel like the comp and eq I do on the POD does a lot of what the BodyRez does in terms of cleaning up the sound.
