New guy from Atlanta saying hi!
« on: October 12, 2012, 07:28:32 PM »
Just got home today from picking up my first Taylor. I fell in love with the tone and feel of the Big Baby and quickly decided my Sammick needed to go bye-bye...

Got a great trade deal today and came home with a pretty great condition Big Baby that quickly got a new set of Elixer's on it. Plays fantastically.

I know it's not a super high end model but I did manage to snag a US made vs the MIM stuff. Not that I would probably notice a difference. I have not been able to put her down since the new strings.

Pre setting her up and cleaning her off...

Thanks you all for the welcome! I love the raw stripped down simplicity of the BBT. It really put me back on a huge acoustic kick. I can't afford the expensive stuff at the moment but it really doesn't have a cheap sounds at all. I have been more of an electric guy. Several teles, a few US deluxe strats and some PRS SE's in the mix...but I've never had an acoustic that I could afford and love the sound of until now.

I'm a bit late on the welcome, but until about 5 years ago, I'd lived in the Atlanta area (Decatur, Alpharetta, Winder) for a long time. Now about 90 miles south - close enough to enjoy the nice things Atlanta has to offer, but far enough away that drivers don't mistake the highway numbers for the speed limit. That's bad enough on I-75 and 85, but gets really exciting on I-285, GA 400, and I-675!

Funny, nobody ever gets confused that way on I-20...

You've joined a happy, friendly group here, modestglock26. Hope you're enjoying the conversation!
