This particular guitar I would describe the overall tone as very rich and bright. If I had to choose a single word to describe the base it would be warm, without being too heavy. The treble is crisp and bright. It has a fantastic sustain and is well balanced tonally.  It’s not a cannon by any means but its rich tone is complimented by great projection. It is very responsive and seems to take aggressive strumming without mudding it up. ......

My '97 cedar walnut GA carries all the same properties you mentioned above, but I will say that my guitar is one of the loudest, if not the loudest of all my GAs. Yours will probably gain volume as it opens up. Here are some photos of mine:

My Taylor Grand Auditoriums:

1997 Cujo14 - old growth cedar/black walnut
2014 K24e - master grade koa
2018 Custom GA - bear claw sitka spruce/mahogany
2019 614 - torrified sitka spruce/flamed maple
2020 714 - lutz spruce/rosewood

Taylor does walnut very well. In fact, walnut Taylors are my absolute favorite. Enjoy your guitar . It sure is a beauty!

play2praiseHim,

I love the way you give a "tasteful"  awareness of your guitars

2011 Taylor Spring LTD 414ce Flamed Walnut/Cedar "Chocolate-Honey w/ a dash of Cinnamon"
2012 GS Mini LTD Tasmanian Blackwood "Vanilla-Amaretto"

I reserve the right to modify my attempt to do the same as time passes but so far I'd have to id mine new BTO as:

Full-bodied roasted kona with honey dipped dates dipped again in chocolate:-).   Hot n Sweet

New guitars smell so good. Every time I get it out of the case it's fun to just breath in the new guitar aroma!

Wow!
That's an awesome looking Taylor!
I especially like the blank fretboard and the wood rosette.  Very clean!
You're going to enjoy that for a loooooong time!
Great story about spending time with Grandpa, too!
