NGD - GA3
« on: December 08, 2012, 09:52:12 AM »
I have generally bought used instruments in the past with varying degrees of success.  Since I’m not getting any younger, I decided to treat myself to a brand new, all solid wood guitar with a warranty.  I have always enjoyed the Taylor 314ce sound but went with the GA3 because I don’t need a cutaway and have a couple of pickups available.  I will use the GA3 at open mics and playing at home.  Needless to say, I love how it sounds and the playability is great.  I am no longer envious of my 2 best guitar-playing friends, both of whom own Taylors.  Kudos to www.trinityguitars.com for excellent customer service and a great price.  My GAS is in remission.

Congrats!
It's always nice to be able to "arrive" at a guitar you've been wanting.  Enjoy!  :)

Congrats on the new guit! Looks real nice. The top almost looks like cedar ... it is Sitka, right?

The only Sapele guitar I have is a GSmini but it sure sounds wonderful. Enjoy!

Congratulations on the GA3 I am sure it will serve you well.  I will tell you that GAS remission is only temporary.

Yes, sitka.  I think the flash or the artificial light makes it look darker than it really is.  No sunshine here today for a natural light pic.

The top of my GA3 actually has this type of dark striping (which I love). Yours looks like a keeper! Congratulations and enjoy! :)

We are having a rare sunny day so I decided to take some pictures with natural light.  The woods look nicer than in the flash picture I posted initially.

They are great tonal guitars. I had one that I played for years live with dual sourced pickups. I gifted it over to my nephew, an amazing musician. Mine had the darkest pumpkin spruce top Id seen and heavy cross silking which somehow all my guitars have not by intent, but they all have an open tone to them maybe coincidence. Loved my GA3. Enjoy yours!
