My 6,000 lb. Avalanche won't win any drag races, but she cruises well at 110 mph.

That looks really comfortable. I bet it's like riding down the freeway on your couch!

The Avalanche is great.  To bad they have discontinued production.

the later models looked better, imho, as the early ones looked like they were half made of plastic :P

as for drag races, this not too far from the Taylor factory - 1/8 mi

6.84 @ 104+ in the 1/8 ... that's a 10 second truck in the 1/4 :o

there's no way that truck would pass a 'snap' test with that tune, though ::)

Lizzy, she's the next best thing to a La-Z-Boy recliner. BTW: the other picture was taken driving down the backstretch at Lowe's (Charlotte now) Motor Speedway. I had both hands on the steering wheel coming off of Turn 4 the first time...I almost slapped the wall where the track flattened out. Sideways is never a good thing in an Avalanche. GM did away with the cladded Avalanche model after 2006 (Mine's an '05). 2007 saw the new body style until the plug was pulled. That's an '07 parked in front of the black Tahoe. Pete's flag mount didn't fit very well inside the infield tunnel. I've done a few mods and she's got plenty of attitude. Corsa Sport stainless steel cat-back exhaust system, K&N FIPK, and a custom DiabloSport Predator tune. She can haul the mail. A couple more pics:

Yes, a Taylor Koa 12 would be fabulous.

Drooling over guitars has replaced drooling over cars. I'm interested to see what sort of Grand Auditorium Anniversary model(s) Taylor produces...

Never got the car drool thing.  Probably stain the seat fabric anyway.  As long as the finish is glossy, guitar drool is safe and healthy.

Anyone notice that koa is an anagram of oak?  Koa is a.o.k by me.

Taking my Tacoma koa out tonight in the frigid-air to a rehearsal...........

I acquired my love of cars from my father. He would take me to car shows and dealerships when I was little. Cars were always a subject I could talk about with my dad.  In 1968 he bought a MGB and had it until he passed away. We still have it in the family...mint condition.
Have fun at your rehearsal!

My dad always had modest cars, going back to a Chevy Bel-air.  I never caught the bug--topped out on a coupla Toyota Celicas in the :'80's.   Rather buy fine wine and great guitars.
