Greetings from Sunny Southern California
« on: December 28, 2019, 02:43:31 PM »
Howdy,

I've been lurking here for a while now and finally decided to make an account and introduce myself.

I have always wanted to learn to play the guitar, tried a couple times when I was younger, even bought a Gibson "Melody Maker" in the 80's but between family and work, I just couldn't carve out the time to practice so it went by the wayside.

Fast forward to last January when I retired from my second career and finally had the time to dedicate to something I've always wanted to do.  I started taking lessons and acquiring guitars in March.  I'm pretty fortunate to having a supportive Bride who was there from the start (She asked me if I really wanted to sell the Melody Maker all those years ago, I should have listened to her).  Anyhow I tend not to do anything half way so I've had five NGD's this year.  Started with a Fender MIM Baja Tele, then a used Les Paul Traditional, followed by a Taylor 714CE-N, a 714CE and just this week, a 756CE!  Needless to say, I'm a lucky guy.  Now all I need to do is practice, a lot!  I don't know how much I'll have to add to the forum because the sum total of my guitar knowledge will fit in a thimble but I enjoy reading all of your exploits!

Happy New Year, Everyone!

Welcome Scott!

In spite of my wonderful arsenal below, I've been thinking about adding a 714, just for the sake of more diversity - we'll see. In the meantime, enjoy your stay!
