i just lifted the 'point' closest to the treble side of the fretboard extension & gently lifted -
once it started, i kept even tension on it, slowly lifted up at a very slight angle & basically
'eased the 'guard' off, making sure not to get ahead of the point where the adhesive was
releasing ... it took all of 5 minutes tops & a little rub with my thumb to get what little
adhesive was left on the top off (no dental floss, no heat &  no lighter fluid to clean up)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YmMNpbFjp0 ;D

removal on this one was the easiest i've ever done, most likely because the guitar isn't
even a month old yet (it arrived at the store perhaps 30 minutes before i opened it) -
i'm not sure how many days it takes to a mini to be made  or the transport time to el cajon
to be packed & boxed, but it takes a good week for brown to get it across the country

i took one more pic & with the sun setting, it appears
darker than it is, but the top does have some nice figuring

it sounds & plays great ... really fun :)

NGD!

254  2002 DN3 hog and sitka
congrats :D
it looks like the back & neck have a gloss or polished finish :)

is it a prototype of some kind, as the aesthetics look very much like a 310, to me,
with chrome Grovers, large MOP dot fretmarkers, black binding & BWB top purfling) &
the back appears to be very straight-grained & sapele usually has more 'ribboned' figuring ???

very cool 8)
thanks for sharing & looking forward to the update :)

Traded my DN4e and 314ce (previously counted) in towards a new 615ce today.

So, count reduced by 1.

256 - 1 = 255.

Taylor- 614ce (2012), 315ce (2010)
Martin- DX1 (2009)
