In my opinion, the 700's are some of the best cosmetically appointed guitars that Taylor, or anyone else, for that matter, have ever produced.
and having recently picked up a 716 in the vintage burst-to my ears-one of the best sounding guitars taylor has offered. i have the englemann top, its the most balanced and has a touch of shimmer that comes with a cedar top, but can take a pick and not be overdriven easily. very clear, very deep, very nice.
and the burst , fretboard appointments and binding all blend in and look way better in person than the pictures present.
my father-in-law loved my goodall TR000 in sitka/EIR. he just about had a heart attack when i sold it. after buying the 716 he told me it was hands down the finest playing/sounding guitar he had ever played.
i love what taylor is doing and adding...............................................now, its time for the slope shoulder Bob! with the vintage burst and 7 series rosette. sitka/EIR and adi/Mahogany.
