I thought that because of the bolt-on necks, Taylors never require a neck reset.....

Bolt on means easier to reset. It does not mean no reset.

A neck reset would be covered if there is a defect in the original setting such as the wrong shim used. I would tend to think that a Taylor that is not new (or very close to being new) would not be covered for a neck reset since humidity and other wear factors that could be considered normal would not allow it to be covered. I guess you can take it to an authorized Taylor technician/center and see what they say. They may well cover it and word it properly back to Taylor so they get covered. You can also call Taylor for the straight scoop.

Just guessing, but no.  A neck reset would be an adjustment service, not a repair.
I have enough, but can always make room for more.

I ask because I think Martin, Larrivee, Collings cover neck reset under warranty.

If the guitar was purchased new from an authorized dealer (or has a valid warranty that was transferred, provided the guitar has not been damaged, due to impact or extreme conditions (temperature/humidity), a neck reset (really more of an adjustment, as it can be done in a few minutes) to return the action to factory specs (6/64" E, 4/64" e between 0.004 -0.007" relief should be covered under warranty.

Martin (Standard series and up) and Larrivee use a dovetail neck joint, which require a rather invasive neck reset procedure.
Collings uses a bolt on mortise and tenon neck joint, which allows for a less complex reset.

A bolt on neck on any guitar does not mean it will never require a reset or adjustment. It means it will be a less complex process than a dovetail neck joint or a set-neck.

When I bought a NOS guitar from a Taylor dealer that didn't have an authorized Taylor luthier, I called Taylor and asked how to get the action adjusted. The action was definitely out of specs. I was allowed to go to an authorized Taylor luthier, but it had to be within 2 weeks of buying the guitar. AND the action had to be out of specs--it was at least 4/32". It may have been a special allowance for my situation, but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

I had my GS-Mini neck reset at about 8 months old. Covered under warranty. I took it in for a general setup job because I play only in open G tuning. The tech at my local dealer used to work at Taylor in El Cajon. Boy did I come home with a nice playing guitar. I had to sign the warranty claim for the neck reset and the shop made something like $37.00 for the job. Bet most other guitars can't get a neck reset for that ammt. of money.

I've an '11 GA that needs a reset on the neck.  Took it back to the dealer and their factory trained tech that works there mentioned a charge for doing the work.  Unfortunately, their shop is not an authorized service center even though the tech is ok'd by Taylor - he had worked previously and another shop that was approved.  Taylor wouldn't send them the shim kit.

Called another factory authorized place and he wanted to do a complete setup and include the neck reset as a part of the work.

So, since, I'm in SoCal, called the Taylor CS department and they said I could drop it off and pick it up in a few and that it would be covered under warrantee - and it would be done properly.
Probably be doing that in a couple of days

Spoke to the Taylor CS and authorized repair person. They both said neck reset is covered under the warranty for the life of a guitar to an original owner.
