One More Taylor Fan
« on: January 23, 2014, 09:26:10 AM »
Just a quick "Hi" from a newbie to this forum. I have yet to pick up a Taylor I didn't like, but I do have some questions you all may be able to help with. I hail from Gig Harbor Washington, enjoy Country/Folk/Folk Rock/Bluegrass. I Travis pick and strum, and view music as humanity's ultimate contribution to the betterment of the world. I am aware Taylor has an "official" forum, but I value the objective opinions of those who have no monetary motivation to their responses. So be well and carry good tidings to the masses! :D

Perhaps a slight misinterpretation! After a long hiatus from playing (last live performance was 1986, heckled off the stage), a sweet lady friend (3 years ago) convinced me to try again. I went to our local Guitar Center and fell in love with a Big Baby Taylor. Last year, in Columbus OH, I picked up a 114ce and bought a Baby Taylor for my 11 yr old neice. Music is a lifetime learning experience of which I never tire. But I am looking to upgrade, and am somewhat confused by all the nuances of the Taylor lineup. So far, this forum has helped greatly. Thanks!

Hey Step - Love that sense of humor! From one vet (23 yrs US Army) to another - If you can't have fun, what's the point?
My thinking was more along the line of a 414e. But, that said, I did some recording last night (just got a TASCAM dr-05, awesome recorder!) and my 114ce sounds better than I thought it did! Vocals need work, tho. Can you make some recommendations?
