Hi there, i recently acquired a 2011 Spring Ltd all Mahogany cutaway dreadnought. I originally was going to the shop for a Martin, i sat down like you do and play rather shyly while everyone else in the shop is lighting the place up with tunes, so i sat strumming different guitars as low as i possibly could and not feeling it...then the sales guy said have you tried a taylor, id never played one before, so i said No, and he produced this beautiful reddish guitar, so i set the Martins Back and picked up the taylor, it felt right, before i even hit a note it just felt right, then i strummed a little and she sang the reverb as i held it while playing sunk into my chest and i stopped and knew i had found my guitar.
The fret buzzed esp on the higher octaves so i brought her into a local Luthier, the wood was dried out, and its going to be with him for a few weeks while he gets the wood back to the correct height. it has struck me that i could return it and go get me a guitar without the fret issue in fact it would be easier, but if i did that then id be bringing the guitar back to sit in the store and dry out even more and for the life of me i couldnt bring myself to do that to the guitar, i know it sounds daft but someone needs to give this guitar some love and turning my back on it seemed like going to a dog shelter and passing by the happy pup thats got a cough. So thats my story on my Taylor, i cant wait to get her back and start playing.
Im originally from Northern Ireland, but now living and occasionally breathing in Columbus Ohio, I'm 42..hence the occasional breathing part, hello to all the fellow Taylor owners out there and thank you Mods for making this forum and approving me to join.
Cheers guys
