Has anyone used a sound hole cover on their guitar to stop feed back when they plug in?

Yes. I have 2 Planet Waves covers - I think they are called 'Screaming Halt!'. They are currently sitting in my studio and are used as receptacles for picks/capos, etc (pity I don't smoke, otherwise they would have become ashtrays!). I found they worked well enough in rehearsal room situations, but no so well on-stage. The main problem was with my personal monitor (SRM 150) and the fact that I am a vocalist/guitarist, so the mic was in close proximity to the guitar and the monitor. In the end, I solved the problem by losing the monitor and moving to Shure in-earphones. They take a little getting used to but, in my view its worth it. I suspect there would not have been a problem with the soundhole covers if I didn't need a mic. Hope that helps.

Yes they are called Screeching Halt. Mics were one of the reasons I bought them my room is small so the mic and guitar were screeching pretty loud. Saw Dylan and he was using one on his guitar. Bought two from a seller on evil bay in china same ones Planet Waves sell. together they were less than the markup they charge. Being soft rubber they would be poor ashtrays, LOL. If you are micing a guitar I would imagine they wouldn't work very well, but I'm using a 416e. I would not use them on a guitar I was micing like my Martin (1977) D-19.
