Welcome, Jacob!
... a 314 which from my understanding is Mexican vs American...
The 300-Series should be made in America.
... It is my understanding that the laminate Taylors are made in Tecate, and the solid wood models in El Cajon...
That's my understanding as well: GS Mini, Baby Taylors, 100-Series, and 200-Series are Mexican-made, with the rest of the line being made in California. The best way to tell the origin of a current-build Taylor is to decode the serial number; the first digit signifies the production facility (1 = El Cajon, 2 = Tecate).
Like Paul said: the build quality of
all Taylors is really outstanding.
