Michael, I remember when you posted pics of this guitar over a year ago. I always remembered the blue paua abalone, and when I was working on my BTO specs, I asked about having the blue paua abalone instead of the regular abalone (I'm not a fan of the color green so decided against the green heart abalone). Taylor had to research the cost, but when the price finally came it, it was EXPENSIVE!!! Consider yourself fortunate to own a guitar with it!

i haven't seen blue paua as a regular BTO option, but i am assuming if it is available upon request that
if the upcharge is anywhere close to what i think it could be, it'd probably be as much, if not more than,
what they're asking for madagascar rosewood or cocobolo ... gotta love those value-packed LTD models

even after the deleting the electronics & adding the other options, well ...
let's just say that it listed for more than a standard 914ce back then

i am definitely NOT complaining, as the tone, playability, feel & build quality are amazing &
the folks at Taylor were gracious enough to allow me custom spec a LTD model pre BTO ...
imho, Taylor does what they do very well &, to me. the investment constantly returns dividends

again, i can only imagine what your adi/madagascar 914ce custom sounds like ...
